SHOW FASHION //Golden Globes 2011 Red-Carpet Prognostication: Best Supporting Actress In A Motion Picture

Mila Kunis, People's Choice Awards 2011

This category contains several awards rookies — Mila Kunis and the heretofore unknown Jacki Weaver — and some other people who are old hat at this, like Amy Adams. I wish one of them would WEAR an old hat. Now THAT is something worth blogging about, no?

Mila Kunis, Jan 2010

This is super Boobs Legsly of her, but Mila manages to lend it an air of... class, maybe? ... that Boobs herself can't always muster. Like, with Blake, I can smell it on her that she wants to be A-list, whereas Mila just sort of walks the walk and lets you decide what talk to talk.

Mila Kunis, May 2010

Mila, as far as my search function can tell, hasn't been to the Globes, Oscars, or Emmys before. But she did attend the Met Ball, which gives us an idea of her super-formal tastes. The answer: big drama.

Mila Kunis, November 2010

This is very Old Hollywood to me; maybe she'll go this route again, but something this sedate seems to befit one of the smaller runups to the Oscars, like maybe the SAGs or DGAs. You never do know, though. Mila's tastes may have gone more streamlined and simple since the tulle box she wore at the Met.

Helena Bonham Carter, 2003 and 1998 Golden Globes

Again, as best I can tell, this is the last time HBC attended the Globes. AWESOME. You can totally see snippets of the high-fashion hobo she is to become.

Amy Adams, 2009 Golden Globes and 2006 Oscars

I'm eliminating the events Amy went to while pregnant, since she is not currently knocked up and thus it's not quite the right comparison. On the left you have her enjoying her full It Girl years; on the right, her first-ever nomination, for Junebug, which is what got her on the A-list in the first place. Her dress had pockets. She jammed her hands into them. It made me mental. The end.

Of course, I wasn't expecting her to go all Sleevy McSleeve on me here, like she's Miss Scarlett in "Clue," so maybe Melissa will surprise us all.
