DISPOSABLE LIVES// – 木曜日/金曜日
From flying over the frozen Tundra of North America, down to the New York metropolis and up to Le Bain at The Standard Hotel, here’s the Disposable Lives take on our week in New York. As much as I love taking pictures with my digital camera these photos always capture the feeling of the moment as I felt it. On this trip we stayed with friends in an amazing converted church just off Washington Square Park before moving into the Soho Grand Hotel. As well as catching up with old friends we made lots of new ones. We had Valentines dinner with the Marc Jacobs family after enjoying an epic show, we sat front row at Y-3 and at the show of our good friend Jeremy Scott who we went on to party with until we were the last ones left dancing. We did just what we do in Tokyo but in New York. Photos like these are equally as important as editorials, look books and runway shots because we feel that for fashion to be worth something it needs cultural context – the city it will be worn in and the people who will wear it. Tokyo Dandy is less about the photo opportunity and more about the moment. I’m happy we have our website to share those moments with people.
Thanks to all of our friends who made our stay in New York like a home from home.
