Last spring Colin and I were lucky enough to spend a week in Paris with Esteban Cortazar and see the collection he designed for Ungaro..we all know what happened in the following months with that particular storied design house but I don't think anyone doubted he would continue making a name for himself. We've kept in touch via email and he sent me the link to the site for his collaboration with Exito. He claims that Exito is the Latin American equivalent of Target but I'm failing to see how this could possibly be the case with how perfectly draped and fitted and um expensive the pieces look (hm though I did buy an alright tshirt at old Target yesterday). Sweet summer to fall inspiration too..styling and video that you must watch by Jaime Rubiano.

Colin and I are such freaks. Have you ever driven really far just for a change of weather for a few hours? The lack of hot summer nights in San Diego led us to this road meandering through crackling dry fields circled in by smooth hills where nightfall meant a drop to 80 degrees. Picked up this dreamcatcher for $20 on the side of the road from a woman who seemed much more focused on her birdhouses and jam selection. It's now safely hanging next to the window above my bed but the bad dreams aren't all gone.

I've had this leopard print deal in my closet for months now and have almost worn it as a shirt so many times..I realized this weekend how much better it looks as a flimsy blazer sort of thing instead. Life changing revelation right. The fact remains that it's probably the top part of a slinky pajama set.
Mainly posting these photos to more efficiently answer a frequently asked question in the past couple weeks - where these boots are from. I never really saw them online but I bought them at an LF sale in La Jolla back in February along with some shapeless knits. They look kind of odd here as if they're navy/brown but they're actually black on (brownish) black I promise. I must be re-in love with them again cause they just got tossed into my suitcase for Tokyo. Eight hours left to sleep, finish packing, and get to the airport.
