raw

so, lately i've given up cooked foods and detoxifying my body, at first I thought this would very draining and i would feel exhausted and malnourished, but i actually have never felt so alert.By cutting out foods with preservatives, and eating mostly raw foods, i feel so much more in touch with myself... its actually amazing!

I make sure that i get all my essential fatty oils, protein, veggies, fruit! everything really! and have learnt to make new and delicious foods!

one amazing recipe that i have become addicted to is sushi, but with a vegetarian twist.
instead of rice i substituted cauliflower- put into a food processor with lemon juice, garlic, coriander, mint and tahini. when this is blended it has a rice like consistency- TASTES DELICIOUS! then you just lay your seaweed out, line it with your rice substitute and add your veggie ingredients, i love to add- avocado, carrot, lettuce, pineapple, cucumber, anything really! roll up and KONICHIWA! you've got your raw sushi! =) if your not doing it vegan then add some sashimi.

The Chia Seed

so i have to say that until right now i actually didnt know what the Chia seed did. all i knew was that it was extremely good for you.
well here are a few of its benefits

30% of the chia seed oil is omega 3 oils
40% is omega 6
this seed absorbs into the body, you dont need to grind down
it usually can hold 10 times its weight in water- making them a great enhancer for hydrating the body
studies have shown that eating the chia seed slows down the process of turning carbohydrates into simple sugars
(great for diabetics)
great for weight loss, keeps you fuller for longer- low GI

its a superfood!
so sprinkle it on your breaky, add it in a smoothie! you will feel satisfied =)

I've just started to introduce some cooked foods into my diet after 3 weeks of detoxing!
feeling great, balanced and intouch.
