Bennett Robots Works, recycling trash into robots

Bennett's robots are inspired by the mid 1900s industrial design, specially by Norman Bel Geddes and Raymond Loewy, whose visions of the “Modern Age” helped shape the industrial age of the 40s and 50s. The robots are made of new objects found in garbage dumps, construction sites, on the street and bought at garage sales. These one-of-a-kind robots take one month to build and have no moving or battery operated parts.

Each robot comes with a numbered metal tag as proof that it's an authentic BRW robot. They measure between 12 to 37 inches tall, and range in price from $750 to $6,000. Visit their website at http://www.bennettrobotworks.com/

Gordon Bennett studied art at Syracuse University where he received a BFA in Advertising and Design. He is a member of the Brooklyn Arts Council. He has been creating robot sculptures for around seven years in his workshop in Brooklyn, New York. Robot sculptures are in private collections in the U.S., Great Britain and Japan.

Check out now Paul Smith's new window display with Bennett's robots at the Fifth Avenue store in NY. Visit his website http://www.paulsmith.co.uk/ and blog http://www.paulsmith.co.uk/personal/paul-smith-blog/

And enjoy an appropriate song: Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto by the Styx.. ja!
