Renault always bringing the Future Now

French automaker Renault is known for talking less and doing more. Never waisted time bringing to the consumer what is needed... the lovely Twingo, then the Kangoo and now in 2011 will introduce a line of 4 fully electric cars, Renault ZE: Fluence, Kangoo, Zoe and microcar Twizy. The future is here and Reanult always delivers fun and fresh ideas. When are we going to have Renault in the US please? My next car has to be one of these... Visit their website at http://www.renault-ze.com/

The driver has two options when it comes to ’filling up’ on energy: A standard charge: takes between four and eight hours, via a charging socket situated on the outside of the vehicle, A quick charge: in 20 minutes, using the same socket at bespoke charge stations.

Twizy Z.E., the evolution of the microcar, is an innovative all electric concept designed for future urban mobility with four-wheel chassis, offering the passenger and driver seated one behind the other. This can concept is helping the environment by producing no CO2 emissions and assisting the users to juggle the daily city traffic with speed, efficiency and simplicity. The ultra-compact car is only 2.3m long and 1.13m wide, ensuring great convenience for busy urban use.

The open bodywork of the car represents highly practical solution for urban mobility through a turning required circle of only three meters and a footprint hardly larger than that of a scooter. The wheel provides easy and agile handling that ensures rarely getting stuck in the traffic, while the low center of gravity of this four-wheeler provide excellent stability. A completely unique feature of this car is its octagonal wheel fairings that entirely cover the tires. This innovative design creates a pleasing and harmonious feeling along with its pearl-white and blue hub caps, where no one can see the wheel rotating any longer. Instead, the movements of the hub caps are only being seen, giving a silent and graceful gliding appearance along the road. Learn more at http://www.gotbroken.com/2009-renault-twizy-z-e-concept

The Kangoo Z.E. is the one intended for everyday use. It is powered by a 70 kilowatt motor delivering a maximum of 226 Nm of torque. Power is derived from a lithium-ion battery, that with a full recharge have an autonomy of four to eight hours, while a 20-minute quick charge you can take a short trip around the house. With a weight of only 1520 kilos, the Kangoo ZE can hit a top speed of 130 km/h.

Solar panels positioned on the roof are employed to power a temperature regulation system inside the car. Keeping the cabin cool uses a significant amount of energy, but this system also permits a pleasant temperature to be maintained inside the cabin, even at a standstill or when parking, and avoids having to put the climate control system on boost when first getting in the car on a hot day. As a socially responsible car, it is also equipped with polyurethane gel bumpers which deform easily to soak up minor knocks, while customers and pedestrians are reassured by their absorbent aspect. A cute detail... you can open the door just by reading your hand... The Renault Fluence ZE is a genuine family car which demonstrates that attractive styling, comfort and space can go hand in hand with respect for the environment. Renault Fluence ZE Concept is an all-electric car with a range of 160km. Learn more about it at http://www.gotbroken.com/2009-renault-fluence-z-e-concept

Renault Zoe ZE is a compact, versatile daily driver which represents a new way of experiencing mobility. It targets motorists who own more than one car and who are looking for a compact, versatile vehicle capable of meeting their varied day-to-day needs, such as the school or work run, or shopping trips.

The roof has been designed as an intelligent protective membrane that insulates the occupants from heat and cold, as well as optimizing climate control performance by recovering energy via its honeycomb photovoltaic cells. At front and rear, a shield of polyurethane gel protects the lights which feature energy-efficient electroluminescent diodes that emit a blue-tinted light. This second skin protects vulnerable components from small knocks in town, while underlining this electric concept car’s hi-tech feel. Rearward vision is handled by two small, profiled, energy-efficient cameras which transmit images to the interior rear view mirror, giving the driver perfect visibility without blind spots. The front features scissor doors, while rear access is through butterfly-style doors. The clever and original design of the rear doors means they also double up as openings for the boot, allowing carrying space to be accessed from the side.
